Meet the all New Scott Supertrac Ultra RC which is the latest addition to the RC family.
With its seamless one piece upper and its forward traction eride midsole the ride is firm but stable and very comfortable like the current Scott Kinabalu Supertrac. The new Scott Supertrac Ultra RC comes with its updated lug design and grip which is great on muddy terrain, forest trails and wet rock. Its lugs are deep and its diamond undercarriage helps to push the mud out. We tested this thanks to the North York Moors peat and it worked well, it still collected up the mud but it never allowed it to compromise the traction.
In our short test out of the box, we took the Ultra RC to the forest trails of the North York Moors.
On the muddy descent, the shoe performed well, slight slipping on the very steep muddy section but I'm guessing even the Inov 8 X Talon would struggle yet soon as i hit the steep uphill climb the shoe griped amazing. On the narrow single track on the moors the shoe felt very stable and as soon as the pace changed the shoe felt like a racer.
All in all Scott seemed to have done it again, They seem to take a great shoe and make it greater. The Scott Supertrac Ultra RC seems to have it all and im sure will be a very popular shoe like its predecessor (Scott Kinabalu Supertrac).
Would i wear this for a short Trail Race or Fell Race? no I would stick with the current Scott Supertrac RC but for longer races such as Trail Marathons and Ultras the Supertrac Ultra RC would be my go to shoe.
