Kahtoola Microspikes have been updated with an improved lightweight Elastomer harness that is supple to -30°C allowing you to use them with confidence in the harshest of winter conditions. To increase strength and durability the eyelets have now been reinforced with a harder plastic material, this prevents the chain links from ripping through the harness. At the front of the harness is a new toe bale to hold the spikes even more securely, also allowing for you to get them on and off a lot quicker.
MicroSpikes are lightweight pavement and trail crampons ideal for snowed up paths and pavements. They form the bridge between lighter pavement crampons and lightweight walking crampons which are designed for mountain use. They will fit onto almost any shoe or boot in seconds to give you extra traction on ice and hard-packed snow. The traction is achieved by chains and small spikes held firmly in place under the foot by a rubber upper rand.
The Kahtoola MicroSpikes have proven especially popular with off road runners who want a light, compact crampon which will attach securely to a running shoe to allow them to pass icy sections. The shoe gives you the ideal grip when on the fells and trails around the UK.
The Kahtoola-Nano-Spikes are ideal for urban running or walking on hard icy surfaces. We all dread running on icy roads and paths but fear no longer the Kahtoola Nano Spike is here. They offer lightweight traction that does not effect the flex or performance of shoes. Each foot is fitted ten Tungsten Carbide tips, very hard wearing penetrating icy surfaces for assured grip. They come with their own carry sack so and when needed are quickly pulled on using the heel tab.
The sole of each unit uses a dual compound construction and each tip is built into a stepped stud adding to the overall grip. The elastomer harness provides sufficient stretch and taught so the spikes hold the shoe firmly. The eyelets are reinforced with a harder plastic preventing the elastomer from tearing. A must have for winter running in zub zero conditions.
