The level of cushioning in a shoe will determine how it feels when your foot lands. More cushioning means less impact and extra comfort. Less cushioning means a faster and more responsive running experience.

Heel to toe drop is the difference in height between the heel and the forefoot. In a shoe with a drop of 7mm, your heel will sit 7mm higher than your forefoot. Shoes with a lower drop tend to place more load on the ankles and are generally better for midfoot and forefoot strikers. Shoes with a higher drop tend to place more load on the knees and hips and generally better for heel strikers.

Karhu - Fusion Ortix Women's Road Running Shoes

The women's Karhu Fusion Ortix is a high cushion running shoe for neutral-footed runners. With a plush yet propulsive ride, it's ideal for performance-oriented athletes seeking a shoe for up-tempo workouts or race day.

The new women's Fusion is lighter than previous versions and maintains a touch of rearfoot support while providing an even quicker transition. The women’s Fusion Ortix in 2021 is the first shoe built by women for women. By adjusting the circumference volume at the instep and forefoot, Karhu offers a personalized women’s construction we call HeraFit.
