HOW TO USE:
- Select the correct size fork to the size of tick
- Keep the forks flat on your pets skin
- Approach the tick if possible from the side
- Slide the tool under the body next to the skin until the mouth is trapped in the fork (the smaller the tick the further the mouth must be located in the fork)
- Gently lift the fork until resistance is felt
- Rotate (twist) the forks in one direction until the tick releases
These tools are designed to assist with the removal of most sizes of attaching ticks. - sometimes tick removal can be difficult depending on the location and size of the tick, restraint of movement of your pet, the thickness of your pet's hair and your own dexterity. In the unlikely event that you come across an attached tick smaller than 1mm you may find it difficult or impossible to remove the attached tick with the tools on their own.
Do not wrench the tick or try to pull the tick away aggressively or with more force than is needed to feel resistance -doing so may result in the tick disengaging from the tool ie the body sliding through the forks or being forced out of the mouth of the fork or the body being ripped away from the tick's mouth leaving the mouth engaged in your pet's skin.
If you are at all unsure or are having difficulty using the tools stop and seek professional veterinary assistance to remove the tick.
