The Volantis Pants are made from Montane's Granite Stretch Nano, a superlight softshell material with excellent four-way stretch and recovery. Although lightweight, this fabric is exceptionally durable and highly abrasion-resistant, making these trousers ideal for use in various landscapes, from rugged mountain sides to long days out on the hill.
The trousers are finished with a non-fluorocarbon DWR (durable water repellent) coating to encourage light rain to bead off the trousers instead of soaking in, without using harmful forever chemicals that damage the environment and our ecosystems. However, please note this does not make the material waterproof.
